Loneliness

The whole conviction of my life now rests upon the belief that loneliness, far from being a rare and curious phenomenon, is the central and inevitable fact of human existence.
That's from an essay called "God's Lonely Man" by Thomas Wolfe. It's used in the "making of" documentary of the Taxi Driver. I couldn't agree more. It is either very good or very depressing to know that you are not alone in being alone.
